Raven Spirit - Trish Painter
Trish Painter - on Dog Tracks CD

Story

So, I was happily single, living with the best dog in the world...(sydney), and into my life walks...KEN... I made a list...the list became a song!

Lyrics

Guess You’ll Do…. (3:06)

Trish vocals/guitar; Ken: Guitar; Steve Jenega, Bass

Your ears don’t droop or flap in the breeze

You don’t make me laugh chasin squirrels up the tree

You don’t cock your head whenever I speak

Or sit up and shake – just for a treat

But you can make me dinner – you can drive a car

You can help do laundry and program VCRs

You bring home a paycheck – that’ll help  buy food

Well, you’re not a dog, but I guess you’ll do

You don’t bark and growl when protecting my deck

You don’t run ten miles on a two mile trek

You never wag your tail when I walk into the door

Or promptly clean up food that falls on the floor

But when you drink your water you don’t drool on the floor

I never have to let you in and out of the door

You have other interests besides just getting food

   You’re not a dog, but I guess you’ll do

You never go outside and mark on our street

When you dream you don’t woof and twitch your feet

You don’t pay attention to what’s going on outside

And you never get excited when we go for a ride

But you greet with a handshake not a sniff between the legs

You make me lovely dinners especially scambled eggs

‘though you’re not always bouncy in a happy, goofy mood

Well, you’re not a dog, but I guess you’ll do

And thank god you don’t get ticks and bring home all those fleas

And I’m very very grateful you don’t lift your leg to pee

And I really kind of like it when you tell me “I love you”

Well, you’re not a dog, but I guess you’ll do

Nope, you’re not a dog, but I guess you’ll do

I’m glad you’re not a dog, ‘cause I LOVE YOU!
